Trumpet Is My First Language
I started playing at nine. Since then it’s taken me to the Marine Corps, Berklee, a workshop full of handmade horns and a LoFi YouTube channel.
LoFi Trumpet Guy
That’s me. I produce chill LoFi and ambient beats, put live trumpet on top, and share it all on my YouTube channel. Some of it’s polished singles, some of it’s late-night live streams.
I’ve taken it on the road, too, including a live set at the Blues & Boogie Bar in Nashville, Tennessee.

Marine Corps Bugler
In 2013 I auditioned for the U.S. Marine Corps in the middle of my studies at Penn State and was selected for “The Commandant’s Own” U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps.
After boot camp at Parris Island and combat training at Camp Geiger, I served as a bugler at Marine Barracks 8th & I in Washington, D.C. from November 2013 to April 2015. Parades, ceremonies, tours and a whole lot of discipline.
Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Building Trumpets by Hand
In December 2019, David Maller and I were both guest players at an Altoona Symphony concert. I offered to trade him a website for a trumpet. That barter turned into a full apprenticeship.
I learned to make natural trumpets, the valveless baroque kind, completely by hand. I’ve since built my own B‑flat and C trumpets, and I’ve competed in two baroque trumpet competitions hosted by the Historic Brass Society.
Playing History
I play with Civil War reenactment bands on original instruments from the 1860s, not reproductions. It’s the closest thing to time travel I know.
